Book Signing with Elin Hilderbrand!
A night with my mom, books, and immense joy. That's what December 8, 2025 was for me!
My mom, also a fellow bookworm, has always loved Elin Hilderbrand. She owns many of her books and routinely recommends one of her books as a next read (especially in the summer). So when I saw that Elin was hosting a book signing at one of my favorite bookstores in Boston, I set alarm on my phone the day that tickets were being released to ensure that we got them. (Yes, I meant business).
Buying Our Tickets, Logistics, and More
Here is some info about how the signing worked and what was included:
- included with each ticket was a hard copy of her new book The Academy (cowritten with her daughter), a meet and greet with Elin, and light refreshments
- when you purchased your tickets, you could select your specific entrance time, broken up into 15 minute increments
- the bookstore made purchasing tickets super easy using Eventbrite
The Event
On the evening of December 8, 2025, my mom ventured into Boston to meet me for the book signing. The event was being held at Beacon Hill Books on Charles Street, one of the cutest bookstores you will come across. You can check out the book store here:
We arrived a bit earlier than our entrance time, but were able to enter the store to get relief from the cold. They served drinks and light snacks while we waited, prepared in the cafe downstairs. They were absolutely delicious!
When it was our turn, we went upstairs to wait in line for Elin. We waited all of 4 minutes! Elin could not have been more kind and genuinely happy to meet us. She signed our books and we were able to take a photo with her.

And, we took a photo together of course!

And that was that! It was so fun to meet an author that we admire in a bookstore that we love. It was even more fun to be able to experience it together.
Takeaways
Honestly, this was one of my favorite evenings from 2025. In thinking back on this day, here are my favorite parts that I will always remember:
- books have a way of bringing people together. Mom and I had such fun sharing in the joy with the other event-goers who were also there because they love books and Elin. The happiness was palpable and something that is hard to capture in words
- trying something new often results in the most fun you will have. Believe it or not, I had never gone to a book signing before! When I got home, I was already looking at book tours online for more because of how fun this was
- bring your loved ones along. I believe that the reason why this event was so fun is because my mom and I did it together. Which leads me to my final segment of this post!
After the Signing
If you ever come to Boston, Beacon Hill is one of the prettiest areas you will see. Since Mom and I were in the area, we ventured to the Public Garden and had the tastiest dinner together.

The Boston Public Garden is only a 10ish minute walk from the bookstore!

We had dinner at 75 Chestnut, which is the most charming and quaint restaurant tucked onto Chestnut Street in Beacon Hill. You can check it out here:

All in all, the best night together. Take this as your sign to go to the book signing!
